A forgotten ex-Arsenal star has admitted he is hungry for revenge as he seeks the eighth club of his professional career.

The player in question is none other than Jeff Reine-Adelaide, who came through the youth ranks of the North London club and stayed there for two seasons before moving to Angers.

After impressing there, he quickly moved to Lyon, but his playing time there was disrupted by injuries, including two torn anterior cruciate ligament muscles in 2019 and 2021.

In an effort to get back into top form, Reine-Adelaide was loaned out twice before eventually moving to Belgian side Molenbeek, a sister club of Lyon.

However, that performance also came to a disappointing end after he was temporarily hospitalised with a concussion following a match in May.

He left the Belgian club at the end of the 2023-24 season and is now looking for a new club as he looks to put his injury woes behind him.

Speak with The team Recently he said: ‘Last season clubs were interested in my situation, but I wanted to be reassured on a physical level.

“I needed a club that would allow me to find my rhythm and condition again. Of course it’s scary from the outside, but the injury had no after-effects or seriousness.

‘I stayed in hospital that same evening for observation and I left the next day. I didn’t really understand what had happened… it was strange because I didn’t think it was serious. I have to find a club whose sporting project appeals to me, that fits the football I love.

“But the human aspect will be essential… My priority is to have fun and be part of a good group. I also have a taste for revenge.

‘Some have written me off, but other than the ACLs, I’ve never been a really injured player. I’ve been labeled as a vulnerable player, even though that’s not true.’

He signed for Angers after a successful loan period and then played for a while at Lyon, where he was loaned to Nice and Troyes, among others, before moving permanently to Molenbeek.
