Forget Spotify Wrapped… singletons are doing DATING wrapped on TikTok

The moment music fans have been waiting for all year has finally arrived… Spotify Wrapped 2023 went live this week.

With Wrapped you can dig deep into your musical obsessions from the past twelve months and reveal your trendy or tragic listening habits.

Users can explore their top artists, songs, albums, podcasts and total listening time.

Last year, however, the music app's annual roundup seemed inspired by a different kind of packaging on TikTok for those whose love lives tend to be hectic — and in 2023, it's popping up again.

TikTokers post their 'Dating Wrapped' – a summary of the best and worst romances they've experienced this year, including how many people they've kissed, how many first dates they've been on and even how many times they cried.

Sharing your favorite songs is one thing: sharing the ins and outs of your love life really takes it to the next level.

The trend involves creating a PowerPoint presentation that you can share with your followers – even going as far as creating graphs and charts and comparing successes to last year.

One TikToker from the US, that posted her version of the video this weekreceived 1.3 million views.

Raquel Debono, who goes by '@raqraqcityb*****' on the video-sharing app, had her presentation ready on her TV as she shared her dating stats with her followers.

She said: 'Welcome everyone, thank you so much for joining me today, it's time for Dating Wrapped 2023 so let's get into it.

'From the notes app on my iPhone, because I've been working on this list all year.

“First of all, there were seven first dates, seven first dates in 2023. That's a 29.2% increase from 2022, where I had three first dates, and 2021, where I had fourteen first dates.

“We've found common ground and that's good to know, it's about finding that in between.”

She continued, “We had a total of three second dates in the year 2023 and thirteen dates overall that I went on dates with, so that's pretty good news.

'I don't know yet how I got from seven to three to thirteen, but we do love a recycling moment.'

Speaking further about where she met her suitors, she revealed it was 18% at school and work, 28% on dating app Ria and 9% on Hinge.

“That's a complete drop,” she told viewers, “TikTok 18% and mutual friends in person, 27%.”

Adding: 'Just so we can notice a pattern, 2023 seems to be the year of the in-person meeting, so the 27% number is up from 0% the year before – those are pretty big numbers.

“So credit where credits are due, one hinge date, which equates to 9%, is pretty wild.”

She continued, “Guys that made me cry, this is the real Olympics of Dating Wrapped. If you made me cry this year, congratulations, all four of you, I'm watching you.”

She then shared the number of guys she thought would be my boyfriend, which was three.

Hanna Otto, who is originally from Hungary but lives in London, shared her 'Dating Wrapped' earlier this week and has been viewed more than 400,000 times

She even created a 'ghost graph' to reveal who ghosted who after every first date, with viewers saying 'this was hysterically hilarious' and 'you really are a QUEEN'.

The TikToker commented, “Those are solid numbers. I mean, lead me on, make me think I'm going to be your girlfriend.”

Finally, she closed the clip with a slide that read “Current boyfriends – zero.”

Commenters joked: “My dating overview will be one slide” and “I keep a spreadsheet called my PBI (Potential Boyfriend Index).”

Others questioned her math skills, with one user saying: 'Wait, wait, isn't that a 133% increase from 2022' and another saying: 'Right! I knew the math here wasn't right.”

It's not just Americans who are jumping on the trend, as people from all over the world are also sharing their dating victories and misfortunes.

Hanna Otto, originally from Hungary but living in London, shared her 'Dating Wrapped' on TikTok earlier this week, with more than 400,000 views.

In addition to her number of first dates, she also shared a pie chart to show “the vibe” of each date and whether it was tolerable, terrible, or really good.

She even put together a 'ghost graph' to reveal who 'ghosts' who after every first date, with viewers saying 'this was hysterically hilarious' and 'you really are a QUEEN'.

As they discussed their jobs, she said: 'One footballer, nice start, thank you, two estate agents, nice things, we have one zoo keeper - what the hell was that about?

She told viewers: 'So at the top of the leaderboard, we had a 6ft tall - well done mate, shame you only had one date wasn't it, but you were an absolute trooper, I really liked you.

Talia Webb from Nottingham revealed the jobs, ages and heights of the men she went on dates with this year

Speaking about her worst date of the year, she said: 'The worst date was with a financial bro from Canary Wharf who proceeded to tell me in detail how he earned £70,000 regardless of being an intern.

“I really wish it were true, but personally I don't think the math there was math.

'He also complimented my heels, but emphasized that he is very happy that they are not red, because red heels are often worn by real women – I didn't really know what to say to that.'

Some daters have parsed the statistics on the characteristics of who they dated.

Talia Webb from Nottingham, took to TikTok to reveal it the jobs, ages and heights of the men she went on dates with this year.

She told viewers: “So at the top of the leaderboard, we had one at 6ft – well done mate, shame you only had one date wasn't it, but you were an absolute trooper and really liked you.

“We had eight six-footers at the time, we love a six-footer, they are absolutely wonderful men, it's a shame they're gone.”

As they discussed their jobs, she said: 'One footballer, nice start, thank you, two estate agents, nice things, we have one zoo keeper – what the hell was that about?

'One of them was a gym teacher, we think that was great, one of them was a personal trainer, a very sexy man, three were students or unemployed.'

Commenters wrote 'this was so entertaining' and 'I have to do this'.

Another added: 'I love this, I want to do it next year!', while someone else tagged their friend and wrote: 'Please do this'.
