Forget Googling lyrics! TikTok trick lets you save songs directly to your library on Spotify – here’s how

Until now, finding the names of these viral hits and saving them for later listening hasn’t exactly been a smooth process.

But you can finally say goodbye to the days of frantically Googling song lyrics, as a handy new tool launched this week.

The tool allows you to save the catchy songs you hear in TikTok videos directly to your Spotify, without having to search for them.

Here’s how to try out the new tool for yourself.

The new tool is called ‘Add to Music App’ and was announced this week by TikTok.

As the name suggests, this allows you to automatically save songs from TikTok to the music streaming service of your choice, be it Spotify or Amazon Music.

“TikTok is already the world’s most powerful music discovery and promotion platform, helping artists connect with our global community to increase engagement with their music,” said Ole Obermann, Global Head of Music Business Development at TikTok .

‘Add to Music App takes this process one step further and creates a direct link between discovery on TikTok and consumption on a music streaming service.’

To use the new feature, simply open the TikTok app and scroll until you come to a video where you want to save the song.

Next to the track details at the bottom of the video, you should now see a new ‘Add song’ option.

Tap this and you will be asked to choose your favorite music streaming service.

Select Spotify or Amazon Music and then whether you want to add the track to a new, existing or standard playlist.

Sten Garmark, Vice President, Global Head of Consumer Experience at Spotify, added: “Wherever you are or at whatever time you are, we want to create less work to get the audio you love.

“That means we can be wherever our users are and create seamless ways to save songs to Spotify so you can enjoy them when and how they want to listen.”

The new tool is now available in the US and UK, with a wider rollout coming.
