Forestville: Wild moment cops pull gun on teenager after house party spirals out of control

Police detained a teenager at gunpoint with a fake gun after a costume party got out of hand.

Officers were called to a house in Forestville on Sydney’s Northern Beaches at around 8.30pm on Saturday night after reports of uninvited teenagers breaking into a house party.

Apparently the host called the police for help in removing the intruders.

Police reportedly found 150 people, mostly teenagers, on the street upon arrival.

The group reportedly refused to cooperate and began throwing glass bottles at officers, prompting calls for specialized officers and police support to be sent to the scene.

During the confrontation, police spoke to a 17-year-old man after being alerted to a suspected firearm in his waistband.

“The teenager complied with their instructions,” a New South Wales police spokesman said.

‘Officers removed the object from his waistband, which turned out to be a toy gun.’

Apparently the teenager was an invited guest at the party.

It is not illegal to own a toy gun in NSW, but police did not immediately realise the weapon was not a real firearm.

A police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia that officers treat all weapons as genuine until proven otherwise.

Images of the incident obtained by the Male observershows the teenager with his hands behind his head and surrounded by armed police.

The police can be seen approaching the boy with their weapons raised.

“What’s going on here… it’s a costume,” someone can be heard shouting.

Another added: “It’s a fake gun.”

Police said the crowd dispersed about an hour later and no officers were injured.

The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
