Forest Lake woman is ‘abducted, held hostage and robbed at gunpoint’ in Brisbane home by four men in balaclavas in terror ordeal

A gang of four balaclava-clad men are said to have kidnapped and beaten a woman in her own home before a terrifying gun battle took place while she was held hostage in another house.

The alarm was raised after neighbors heard a woman screaming at a property in Forest Lake in Brisbane’s south-west about 2pm on Friday.

Locals saw the woman being led into the two-storey brick house after police said she was allegedly abducted from her home in nearby Cassowary Street, Doolandella.

Minutes later, neighbors told police they heard a volley of gunshots before four men, dressed in all black and wearing balaclavas, fled the scene.

Emergency services and police arrived shortly afterwards.

Paramedics treated the 43-year-old woman for stab wounds to her hand and a fractured eye socket before being taken to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Police arrested four men at a property on Jarvis Street in Stafford Heights at around 2am, just after 3.30pm.

The men were taken into custody and police established a crime scene at the three addresses. No charges have been filed as police continue to investigate the incident.

Officers also seized a white Audi believed to have been driven by the group of men for forensic examination.

Forest Lake resident Paul Spence witnessed the incident and claimed the woman appeared to be “held hostage” by the men.

Mr Spence said he heard a loud noise before the men led the woman into the brick house.

“I thought an awning had fallen and the next moment I see men kicking in the door,” he told the newspaper Courier mail.

“And a man with a hostage, a girl maybe in her late twenties, with his hand around her neck and forcing her into the house.”

He said he saw one of the men who was reportedly carrying a large handgun.

Another resident said she heard gunshots.

“I just heard the bang, bang, bang… three or four gunshots,” they said.

A bloody stain of a handprint was seen on a pillar outside the property where the woman was forced into by her alleged attackers.

After the group of men fled, residents rushed to help the woman until emergency services arrived.

The latest incident comes after 70-year-old grandmother Vyleen White was reportedly stabbed to death in front of her young granddaughter in the underground car park of the Town Square Redbank Plains Shopping Centre, in Brisbane’s south-west, last Saturday.

Her blue 2009 Hyundai Getz was allegedly stolen and later found by police in Springfield Lakes.

Five teenagers, aged between 15 and 16, have now been arrested and charged in connection with her death and alleged carjacking.

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder.
