Forehead! Lead singer Angie Hart has revealed the true meaning behind the lyrics of the ’90s indie-pop group’s hit song Accidently Kelly Street.
The band is celebrating 30 years of their Marvin The Album and have announced a nationwide anniversary tour for later this year and 2024.
Appearing on Channel Nine’s This Morning on Thursday, Hart explained that his bop Accidently Kelly Street was written by bassist Tim Connor, who was moving into a house on Kenny Street but thought it was Kelly Street.
When asked why he thought the song continues to be a hit, Hart said, “I think because it’s unabashedly positive, that’s one of the things, that’s why we picked it in the first place.”
“Tim, our bass player, wrote it and he was having a particularly good time in his life moving into a house on Kenny Street, which he thought was Kelly Street, and he wrote a song about it.”
