Ford Raptor driver arrested three weeks after alleged Belmore road rage attack

The wife of a road rage victim says she is tortured by images of him in hospital with a fractured skull and brain swelling after a seizure that left him requiring CPR on the spot to save his life.

John Totsis, 47, a father of two, has been in hospital for three weeks following a road rage incident reportedly carried out by a 34-year-old man who was denied bail in Bankstown local court in western Texas on Tuesday. Sydney.

Photos of a bloodied Mr. Totsis were posted online by his sister Vicki and wife Li E Zl, who is stuck in the Philippines trying to get a visa to stand by her husband’s side.

“I pray for your speedy recovery, my dear.. It torments me when I really want to see you, care for you, and be with you in this time of crisis, but I can’t right now. I don’t have my visa yet,” Ms. Zl – a secondary school teacher – posted on Facebook.

The post accompanied the photo of Mr Totsis in hospital posted on Facebook by sister Vicki Totsis who described her brother’s injuries as “two skull fractures and brain swelling”.

The Ford Raptor driver charged in an alleged traffic accident is Din Decevic, from Punchbowl, who is accused of hitting Mr Totsis in the back of the head, causing him to hit the ground and suffer a brain hemorrhage.

Vicki Totsis said a passing motorist who saw an injured Mr Totsis perform CPR before paramedics arrived on the scene in Belmore, south-west Sydney, on May 28.

Din Decevic was arrested Monday night in Lakemba – three weeks after he allegedly left the scene of the incident – and charged with recklessly inflicting grievous bodily harm.

He did not appear in Bankstown local court on Tuesday and magistrate Glenn Walsh said the suspect will remain in custody pending a hearing on Thursday when he will apply for bail.

At the time of his arrest, Mr Decevic was already out on bail for alleged stalking, which will be heard by Bankstown Court in December.

Police will allege that Mt Totsis stopped his Hyundai Getz at Peel Street, Belmore at around 7:15pm on Sunday, May 28, 2023.

A short time later, police alleged that Mr. Decevic parked his Ford Raptor utility behind the other man’s vehicle, exited the utility, and assaulted the victim.

The police will claim that Mr Totsis fell backwards and his head hit the ground.

Mr Totsis was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to St George Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Mr Decevic is said to have left the scene in his Raptor before police arrived.

Detectives released a photo of a vehicle and a description of a man they now claim is Din Decevic and arrested him Monday night.

Mr Totsis remains in a serious but stable condition at St George Hospital.
