Shock twist for WAG who left her footy star boyfriend and moved to Dubai because she hated Adelaide – as she reveals what’s really happening with her love life

The AFL’s ‘hottest WAG’ Chelsea Becirevic has revealed how her move to a new life in Dubai unfolded after leaving football boyfriend Ivan Soldo behind because she couldn’t bear life in Adelaide anymore.

Becirevic, 23, gave up her glamorous Melbourne lifestyle to follow her boyfriend Soldo to the City of Churches in November last year, when Soldo was swapped from Richmond to Port Adelaide.

However, she proved that the novelty of life in ‘Radelaide’ had worn off when she announced on Instagram six months later that she was moving to Dubai to start a new life with an airline.

The star player has since requested a transfer to a club in Victoria, and it could be to please his glamorous girlfriend.

Becirevic revealed to her large social media following on Wednesday that, despite some reports, she is still in a relationship with Soldo and that she may be moving back to Melbourne. However, her new life in Dubai has not gone as planned.

“I moved back to Australia a few weeks ago,” she posted on Instagram.

‘To be honest, I hated long-haul flights, it was so hard and I missed Australia so much.

‘I made some amazing friends in Dubai and I’m so glad I did, even for the short time I was there. Miss you girls.

‘Very happy to be home again.’

Becirevic also announced that she is no longer working for Emirates, saying the job was “fun while it lasted.”

“It’s a great way to meet so many different people and have a bit of fun,” she wrote.

‘If you want to travel, this is a great way to do it. But it’s definitely very romanticized online.

‘I was terribly homesick and found the work very isolating.’

Becirevic then addressed the controversy surrounding her move from Adelaide.

“I’m honestly fed up with this ridiculous story that keeps going around,” she said.

‘I have been silent for far too long, but it is time to set the record straight.

‘Somehow I have become the center of attention for a profession that has nothing to do with me.

‘It’s nobody’s business, but I moved back from Dubai to support my boyfriend and somehow I’m being dragged into the media.

‘It’s disappointing to see that it’s the same story over and over again, where the girl is blamed for everything.

“Let’s be clear: I have never spoken negatively about Adelaide.”

A follower asked her if she was planning to move to Melbourne, to which Becirevic replied: “I’m not sure where I’m going to live yet… I’m just going with the flow at the moment.”

‘I’ll be spending the off-season at home with my family at the GC, so I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone.’

Melbourne side St Kilda are reportedly interested in the ruckman, who has made just eight appearances for the Power this year.

Football journalist Callum Twomey posted on X: ‘Soldo isn’t used to life in Adelaide and is keen to return to Melbourne after a year. The Saints could pair him with Rowan Marshall as a point of difference.’

There is a good chance that Becirevic will soon be living in Melbourne again

When she announced her departure to Dubai, one follower asked how Soldo took the news.

Becirevic showed off her sense of humor by posting a photo of himself standing on the corner of an elevator with his hands at his sides, accompanied by the caption “surprisingly, he’s really okay with it.”

She also wrote that they plan to continue their relationship “long distance for a while longer” and have him travel with her during the off-season, but she also admitted that they’ll find it difficult that he can’t visit her before Port’s campaign ends later this year.

Becirevic’s concerns about Adelaide were foretold when the biomedical sciences student announced her move in November last year, shortly after she made headlines with Soldo and established herself as one of Australia’s hottest WAGs when she attended Richmond’s Best and Fairest awards.

‘Honestly, [to be honest] “I can’t say I ever thought I would move to Adelaide,” she wrote.

‘I’ve never been to Adelaide before so I really have no idea what to expect… and I’ve heard so many mixed reviews.’
