Nathan Cleary and Mary Fowler have been spotted enjoying an intimate riverside date as rumors of a new power couple in Australian sport continue to swirl.
Penrith Panthers champion Cleary, 25, and Matildas World Cup hero Fowler, 20, were pictured together for the first time strolling along the banks of the Nepean River.
According to News Corpthat photo was taken two weeks before the pair “enjoyed an ice cream cone” together after a promotional event with Adidas.
The riverside meeting – which took place on August 8, the day after Australia defeated Denmark in the World Cup – would be the duo’s second appearance together in just over two weeks.
“We were walking along the Nepean River when we saw them,” said a Penrith resident who saw the couple.

“They took pictures and chatted with other locals, and walked up and down the Nepean River together for quite a while.”
Cleary and Fowler laugh together while wearing Adidas clothes. The footy star reportedly stopped during the walk to talk to some fans.
Sources from Cleary’s camp denied any kind of relationship with Fowler after the ice cream rumors emerged, insisting that the catching up was “just ice cream.”
Cleary and Fowler follow each other on Instagram, although the footballer lives in Britain, where she plays for Women’s Super League side Manchester City.
It comes a year after Nathan’s shocked divorce from his model ex-girlfriend Tèah Foot after a whirlwind casual relationship.
Insiders confirmed the split last year after fans noticed they no longer followed each other on Instagram.
“Let’s say they’re taking a break. They were on and off for a while, so who knows what will happen,” a source told the publication.
They continued, “Tèah really likes him, but it hasn’t gotten serious yet and they’re not together right now.”

Considered Australia’s next big football talent, Fowler plays for Manchester City
After Tèah unfollowed Nathan online, the NRL star posted a series of photos to Instagram with the caption: ‘Life goes on’.
The couple’s divorce came just weeks after the pair were spotted enjoying an intimate dinner at Spice Thai restaurant in Sydney’s Coogee.
The couple had been in an off-and-on relationship for a while, reports allege.
She is also the sister of former Sydney Swans player Zac Foot.
Fowler was dubbed football’s ‘next big thing’ by Sam Kerr last year and veteran coach Alen Stajcic, who gave the striker her national debut at the age of 15, labeled her the ‘most talented female player’ he had ever seen.
