Footy star Taylan May gets the most extreme tattoo in the NRL
- Penrith Center gets shocking new ink
- Revealed his extreme appearance on Tuesday
- Design will be very prominent on the field
Panthers star Taylan May has revealed his shocking new tattoo after getting his surname inked in large letters on his neck.
The 22-year-old showed off the design on Instagram on Tuesday, with a pair of videos showing how he got the work done at a tattoo parlor in Sydney, where his teammate Brian To’o was also a customer.
Footage shows the center preparing for the dazzling design at Culture Ink & Tattoo, before showing off his neck ink, accompanied by the 2Pac song Only God Can Judge Me.
May’s new ink will be impossible to hide when he takes the field in Penrith’s next match against Wests on April 20
The 22-year-old endured a very painful session at a tattoo parlor in Sydney, where his teammate Brian To’o is also a customer.
May also posted a photo of himself showing off the tattoo in a car while American rapper Sleepy Hallow’s song All The Way plays in the background.
The Panthers star has no shortage of striking ink, with the word “pain” tattooed under his right eye, a broken heart under his left eye and “Meliodas” – the name of an anime character – written right on his chest.
“I’m very impulsive and I always wanted tattoos on my face because I wanted to see how quickly people change and judge me,” he said last year.
‘People with facial tattoos are automatically treated as if they want to be cool or that they are scary.
‘I feel like deep down I was looking for help at that moment, so I put ‘pain’ on my face.
“I get asked about it and I try to avoid the question, but it was where I was.
The Panthers ace said he got his two facial tattoos – ‘pain’ under his right eye and a broken heart under his left eye (pictured) – to see how quickly people judge him based on his appearance
‘Many people judge too quickly. Sometimes I portray myself that way, but if you met me and talked to me, I’d like to think I’m completely different.’
May made headlines earlier this year when he left Broncos star Reece Walsh with a facial fracture in a controversial hit.
In the opening minutes of Penrith’s 34-12 win in round three, May ran out of the defensive line and hit Walsh just after the No. 1 Broncos had passed the ball, with the pair clashing heads.
Walsh fell to the turf bleeding from his face and, despite passing his head injury assessment, was unable to continue playing.

Broncos coach Kevin Walters was outraged that the NRL’s match review committee (MRC) had chosen not to charge May for the hit, with Walsh expected to miss at least a month injured.
The goal drew comparisons to a clash from the 2022 season, when Cronulla forward Dale Finucane collided with ball runner Stephen Crichton and was handed a two-match ban.
NRL football boss Graham Annesley later said he should have been charged over the incident.
