- Rory Lobb’s TikTok video has left some footy fans furious
- Western Bulldogs ruckman dropped from AFL squad
- TikTok clip with fiancé joked about his demotion to VFL
Fallen-from-favor AFL star Rory Lobb has been roasted online after posting a cringe-inducing TikTok video with his glamorous fiancée about how he was dropped by the Western Bulldogs.
Lobb, 31, is behind rising star Sam Darcy in the pecking order this season – and bizarrely chose to make a social media clip about his demotion to the VFL.
The ruckman teamed up with fiancée Lexi Mary to poke fun at his playing situation, as the pair lip-synched the chorus of High School Musical – Gotta Go My Own Way.
The video includes a caption: ‘POV (Point of View): He needs to play VFL for the rest of his career.’
In the clip, Lobb utters the words, “What about us? What about everything we’ve been through?’ while lip-syncing to the song Gotta Go My Own Way from the movie High School Musical 2.

Rory Lobb (pictured with fiancée Lexi Mary at Melbourne’s Flemington) has been demoted to the VFL – and criticized by footy fans after starring in embarrassing TikTok video
Incredibly, the tongue-in-cheek video on Mary’s TikTok has been viewed more than 350,000 times and shared more than 200 times.
As expected, some of the comments from stunned football fans were brutal.
“He should focus on getting back to 1s (AFL) than this mess,” one person wrote.
A second posted: ‘Should have stayed in Fremantle.’
A third weighed in: ‘Seriously, where is the dignity here from a grown man??’
Other scathing comments on the video included ‘this will definitely regain the respect of his teammates’, ‘imagine Bevo (Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge) watching this’, ‘the guy is definitely getting flamed in the group chat’ and ‘imagine showing up for training after posting this’.
Lobb – who stands a whopping 207 centimeters tall – made his AFL debut with the GWS Giants in 2014 before joining Fremantle in 2019.
After being the club’s main goalkeeper in 2022, Lobb requested a trade to the Western Bulldogs last season – and some Dockers fans in Western Australia are said to still be furious at his defection.
Lobb and Mary announced their engagement last November during a holiday to the Maldives.
