Rising football star Tyrone Munro is in mourning following the death of his mother, Kirawhan Fernando.
South Sydney Rabbitohs announced on Wednesday that Fernando has passed away, leaving their 19-year-old star and his family devastated.
Interestingly, Munro has indicated that he wants to play in the Bunnies’ match against Penrith Panthers on Friday night.
Fernando is survived by her four sons, Tyrone being the eldest. Souths said they were supporting their player during this difficult time.
Munro shared his grief on Instagram on Thursday.
“Losing a mother is a pain that cannot be described in words. It is almost impossible to move on from the memory of losing the woman who sacrificed her own happiness so that you could have a better life,” he wrote.

“If anyone knew my mom they knew she would take her clothes off for everyone she loved and she loved her family so much. My home was always open to everyone in my community and sometimes I would get mad at mom ❤️ because my little cousins would steal my clothes and my aunts clothes but mom didn’t tell me she just pretended not to know because she just loved her family.
‘I remember passing for a pair of shoes and my mother wouldn’t buy them for me and she said to me, ‘Son, nothing will ever be given to you in this world. If you want something, you have to work for it and earn it,’ and that’s what she taught me.
“And I carried that stuff with me every day. I will never forget those moments and the list could go on and on. She was my rock, my heart, and my soul and spirit and everything. Until we meet again, Mama.”
Souths revealed that Munro’s teammates will wear black armbands on Friday in support of him.
“The South Sydney Rabbitohs will wear black armbands in remembrance of Kirawhan’s life against the Panthers tomorrow night and have also offered the club’s full support to Tyrone and his immediate family at what is a very difficult time for them all,” the club said.
