NSW Police have launched an investigation after a violent brawl broke out following a trial match in the national rugby league last weekend.
About 20 people were involved in the violent fight that started at the Courthouse Hotel, Tamworth on Saturday evening. According to police, the fight then broke out on the road News Corp.
It is alleged that some of the people involved were players and supporters of Woy Woy Roosters and North Tamworth Bears, who had played against each other earlier in the day.
The Courthouse is a sponsor of the Bears.
Footage of the incident shows a bare-chested man throwing punches and being chased by three men. Other people participate, including some women.

Another woman is heard saying: ‘F***, f***, f***’.
The North Tamworth Bears deny any of their players were involved in the incident.
Other images shared from the evening in question appear to show a man dancing with his pants down while standing on a table in the pub.
Witnesses said the man had played in the game earlier that day, the publication reported.
A NSW Police spokesperson said both incidents were being investigated.
“Around 2.30am on Saturday (March 10, 2024), emergency services were called to Peel Street, Tamworth, following reports of a fight,” a police statement said.
‘On arrival, police saw approximately 20 people fighting on the roadway before OC spray was used and the group dispersed.
‘No one was hurt.
“Officers from Oxley Police District have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
NSW Police say they are investigating what happened last weekend
The NSWRL also released a statement.
“The NSWRL was made aware of an alleged incident in Tamworth on Saturday evening,” a NSWRL spokesperson said.
“As the alleged incident did not occur at a Rugby League match or Rugby League event, it is a matter for the police.
“The NSWRL will provide all necessary assistance as the matter is investigated by police.”
