Wayne Carey helped open a new strip club in Geelong, with the major player reportedly pocketing a five-figure payday to do so.

Carey, 52, was the main attraction at a Saturday night meet and greet at the After Dark Gentleman’s Club, a local strip joint in Geelong, with the venue promoting his visit on their Instagram page.

“Join him for some free champagne with our ladies,” the social media post read.

Carey denied he has been paid, but News Corp reports he is in line for a big payday for his appearance.

He also emphasized that strip clubs “can be quite classy.”

“I love Geelong, I think it’s a thriving place,” Carey said on his podcast The Truth Hurts.

Carey insisted strip clubs

Carey insisted strip clubs “can be quite classy” after heading to Geelong on Saturday

“Strip joints are part of many cities and employ many people.

‘It came across my desk, it’s been renovated and the opening is Saturday evening and I have to go and have a look. Give a little back to the community. I’m going to stick my head in there for about seven hours.”

Carey is not the first footy star to enter the strip club world.

Former football great Warwick Capper became co-owner of Westminster Secrets, a brothel near his family home in Oakleigh.

‘I grew up here. House is just a kilometer away. It feels a bit like home,” he told Daily Mail Australia exclusively

‘I was playing football about half a kilometer away. Oakleigh Youth Club. I thought it would be a good fit.”
