Footy great Dane Swan calls for someone to be JAILED over AFL team’s scandalous Wacky Wednesday party – and he’s NOT talking about the players

Dane Swan has claimed that a person who filed a complaint against several GWS Giants players after their ‘Wacky Wednesday’ party ‘deserves jail time’.

It emerged on Tuesday that the AFL and the Giants were investigating a complaint surrounding the club’s end-of-season ‘Wacky Wednesday’ feature.

The fancy dress party was reportedly based on the ‘troubled couples’ theme, with it claimed some players at the event dressed up as former NRL star Jarryd Hayne and Australian NBA player Josh Giddey, both of whom faced serious allegations over their behavior . with women before they were acquitted.

Other costumes reportedly included players dressing up as the World Trade Center towers.

Hayne recently returned to rugby league after the ex-Parramatta Eels star was released from prison after his rape conviction was quashed.

Giddey was cleared of any wrongdoing by police after he was falsely accused of having an inappropriate relationship with an underage girl.

The GWS event was held in a private room of a pub, with some players said to have performed ‘distasteful skits’.

One sketch reportedly featured a blow-up doll, while one player reportedly referenced disgraced rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs.

There is no allegation that the alleged conduct was criminal.

The AFL and Giants conducted an investigation into the matter, with the club’s internal investigation initially clearing the players of any illegal activity.

But the Giants have since released a statement, describing the allegations as “disturbing” and “completely contrary to the club’s values.”

Although the players involved have not been officially named, Nine News claimed that ‘up to six stars allegedly involved in the skits have been hit with punishments’.

Former AFL star Swan took to social media to express his thoughts on the incident.

Captain Toby Greene is reportedly facing a $20,000 fine, but was not directly involved in any of the allegedly offensive skits

Greene is also said to have dressed up as Olympic star Rachael ‘Raygun’ Gunn (pictured)

Swan expressed his disgust at the way the scandal came to light in a post on X

“You have to kinda hope these GWS guys sacrificed a live goat or something in this pub because these punishments are ridiculous from what is being told now,” Swan, who retired in 2016, wrote on X.

‘The bartender who betrayed them also deserves prison time. Always a disgusting thing to do at a private event,” he added.

GWS captain Toby Greene faces a $20,000 fine. While it is understood the skipper was not directly involved in the skits, it is claimed the fine relates to ‘failure to show adequate leadership’.

It is also claimed that Greene dressed up as Australian Olympic star Rachael ‘Raygun’ Gunn.

Ny Breaking Australia has contacted representatives from GWS, Greene and Gunn for comment.

It is understood the names of those banned will become public in the coming days, with players currently protesting to the AFL over possible sanctions.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, GWS said: ‘The Giants confirmed yesterday that the club is aware of allegations of inappropriate behavior at the players’ end-of-season event last month.

‘The club takes the matter very seriously and has acted quickly after receiving the concerns.

“All parties have cooperated fully with the AFL to ensure the allegations are fully investigated,” the statement said.

Disgraced rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was reportedly the butt of a joke from a GWS Giants star who is now in hot water for his actions at the club’s Wacky Wednesday party

Members of the GWS team are also said to have dressed up as former Fiji star Hayne, who was recently released from prison after his rape conviction was overturned.

“Some of the allegations are distressing and completely contrary to the club’s values and policies.

“There is also a level of misinformation and rumors being spread that is completely inappropriate, especially while the investigation is ongoing.

‘The club will provide further comment once the results of the investigation are known.’
