Furious footy fans have lashed out on social media ahead of and during the first quarter of the AFL grand final, claiming the coverage on 7 Plus was not good enough.

Several supporters posted their displeasure on X as the Sydney Swans and Brisbane Lions chase premiership glory.

‘Can’t Channel 7 afford full HD (high definition) streaming of the game?

“It’s 2024, only now can you stream it and it’s still like we’re watching a pixelated mess in 2012.” one tweeted.

Another wrote: ‘Is anyone else having problems with the 7Plus app? It seems the other 7 channels are working but not the footy?

A third weighed in with: “The sooner the AFL grand final moves to Foxtel the better.

“The reporting is so shameful and embarrassing.”

A fourth was even bolder, make their feelings known on X.

It comes as more than 100,000 fans packed the MCG to make the decision.

Pop star Katy Perry impressed the crowd after performing some of her classic songs, while Cody Simpson showed off his prowess in singing the national anthem.

It comes just months after Simpson failed in his daring quest to represent Australia at the Olympic Games in the swimming pool.
