A man has been rushed to hospital and another has been left with minor injuries after an ‘unprovoked’ double stabbing inside a shop in suburban Melbourne.
Police believe the two men were talking inside the shop on Paisley St in Footscray shortly before 5pm on Monday when they were approached by an unknown man.
Investigators allege the man, believed to be in his 20s, pulled a knife from his jacket and stabbed both men in an unprovoked attack before fleeing on foot.
A 37-year-old man from Hoppers Crossing was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, while a second 39-year-old man from Greenvale was treated for minor injuries.

Investigators allege the man, believed to be in his 20s, pulled a knife from his jacket and stabbed both men in an unprovoked attack before fleeing on foot.
Investigators have since released images and CCTV footage of a man they believe may be able to help with their inquiries into the alleged shocking attack.
The man is described as being around 175cm tall with dark hair and dreadlocks.
He was wearing a dark baseball cap with white writing, a denim jacket over a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, white shoes, and was carrying a dark bag.
