Footscray crash: Filipino international student is killed after being struck by two cars at the intersection of a trendy Melbourne street: ‘Forever 22’

A woman who died after being hit by two cars in Melbourne was an international student from the Philippines who was due to graduate next year.
Frances Jeyann Ramirez, 22, was hit at the intersection of Hallenstein Street and Hopkins Street in Footscray at around 10pm on Saturday.
Emergency services rushed to the scene but despite the efforts of paramedics she could not be saved.
Police have said they are unsure what caused the crash and whether Ms. Ramirez was trying to cross the road or was hit while on the sidewalk.
Both drivers were uninjured in the crash and remained at the scene to assist with the police investigation.
Ms. Ramirez had only celebrated her 22nd birthday three weeks before the accident.
Her father Jay shared a heartbreaking post paying tribute to his “sweet baby girl.”

Ms. Ramirez had just celebrated her 22nd birthday on November 4
“If I could only turn back time, I'll skip the day you leave. If tears could form stairs and memories could form a trail, I would walk straight to heaven and bring you home again,” he wrote.
'Thank you anak ko [Filipino for ‘my child’] for the 22 years of love you shared with us and sorry for all our shortcomings.
“We will miss you, my sweet little girl.”
Family member Pearl Ramirez shared photos of Mrs. Ramirez, affectionately known as “Jackie,” as she Facetimed her loved ones on her birthday last month, alongside the caption: “Our forever 22.”
Friend Princess Joy Lugod described Ms Ramirez as a “beautiful soul” and said she would complete her studies next year.
Mrs. Lugod has one GoFundMe to help Mrs. Ramirez's family bring her body to her hometown of Lamut, Ifugao.
The fundraiser has so far raised $34,730 of its $50,000 goal since its inception on Thursday.
As the police investigation continues, Victoria Police have urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
