In the first minute of a match in the Turkish Super Lig, an ambulance had to enter the field after a player fell unconscious on Saturday.

The worrying incident halted the action for several minutes as Goztepe midfielder Isaac Solet was attended to by medical staff.

Just moments after the match between Goztepe and Samsunspor started, the Central African Republic international was involved in a clash of heads and was immediately knocked unconscious.

The 23-year-old was initially treated on the pitch before being taken to a nearby hospital where he reportedly regained consciousness.

A statement from the club read: ‘Our player Isaac Solet, who was hit in the head during an aerial challenge with an opponent in the first minute of the match against Samsunspor, lost consciousness for a short time, but is now conscious and in good health .

Goztepe took the lead in the 13th minute after an own goal by Zeki Yavru, but the home side equalized thanks to a goal by Marius Mouandilmadji.

Romulo Cardoso restored Goztepe’s lead before half-time and Juan Santos da Silva seemed to have put the result beyond doubt when he made it 3-1 after the break.

However, Samsunspor fought back in the closing stages and a goal from Kingsley Schindler and a double from Olivier Ntcham were enough to secure all three points.
