“Nick was a powerful, strong player during the game and made an immediate impact on the pitch, so his presence was felt especially by opponents.
He made his competitive debut at Norwood Oval in Round 8 of 2022.
‘Lowds’ played several key roles, but few were more impressive and memorable than his role in the victorious 2022 SANFL Final.
Nick put in a solid performance early this year before a calf injury in Round 9 interrupted his season.
Nick will be remembered by all his teammates along with the Norwood Football Club coaches, volunteers, support and administrative staff. We all extend our sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.”
A former VFL star, Lowdon was recruited to Norwood by Casey, after coming through at Gippsland Power. He also played footy for the Darwin Buffaloes in the NTFL.
Following the devastating news, SANFL also released a statement.
