Manchester United great Gary Neville has stated that 'Aussie' Ange Postecoglou could one day replace Pep Guardiola at Premier League giants Manchester City.
It followed Tottenham's 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest, which saw his team climb to fifth on the ladder.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the former Red Devils defender called the 58-year-old's impact on Spurs 'mind-boggling'.
“We sometimes see managers say that they need time to build a style at a club, or that they need time to get used to the players,” said the popular football expert.
“What he (Postecoglou) has done in a short time is staggering, because he has not only implemented the idea of a play, but also created something that is breathtaking to watch.”
Neville then suggested that Manchester City could make a play for the ex-Socceroos boss, with the Citizens losing the all-conquering Guardiola in the summer of 2025.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the former Red Devils defender called the 58-year-old's impact on Spurs 'mind-boggling' since he was appointed in June.

'Spurs fans won't like this but he's great, and if you're Manchester City losing Pep Guardiola in a year or two's time you'd look at Ange Postecoglou and think 'wow, that's exactly what we want to see'. Neville added.
But for now, Spurs will just have to enjoy this, because it's brilliant to watch.
“What they can do is enjoy one of the best brands of football I have seen in the ten years since I stopped playing. I love watching Tottenham Hotspur play.'
Neville's praise was interesting as he stated in October that Postecoglou's style was 'naive' and that he was merely copying Guardiola's tactics using inverted full-backs.
After joining the north London club from Celtic, Postecoglou broke the record for most points earned by a Tottenham manager in their first nine games.
He subsequently became the first manager to win Manager of the Month for the first three months of a season.
Amazingly, his appointment in June by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was not well received in some quarters.
And when star striker Harry Kane left the club two months later to join German giants Bayern Munich, many football pundits and concerned fans predicted lean times would follow.
But while he has spent his entire career as a manager, Postecoglou has silenced his opponents by playing an enterprising brand of football that has won the hearts of countless fans along the way.
Not bad for a guy from Melbourne who continues to show his wares in the best club competition in the world.
