Here, fans learned that not only does the German No. 9 have a wife named Lisa, but he also regularly listens to Survivor’s classic Eye of the tiger for motivation.

Washington Post journalist Ella Brockway also got in on the Fullkrug act, posting “Niclas Füllkrug: goalscorer, owner of a truly fascinating Personal Life section on Wikipedia.”

Fullkrug started his career with Bremen, but made a name for himself in the second division in Germany for first Nurnberg and then Hanover.

His goal-scoring exploits saw him return to Werder Bremen in 2019, where the club announced his new contract with the club simply by posting an image of his ‘famous’ teeth.

Since his return, Fullkrug has scored 39 goals in 82 appearances for the German club, sending them back to the Bundesliga last season.

Despite his small role in Werder Bremen’s promotion, Fullkrug’s salary was actually cut by 30 per cent at the start of this season due to financial problems at the club, as revealed by BILD.

That hasn’t stopped him scoring though, with 10 goals in 14 Bundesliga appearances to date leading to his call-up to the national side and inclusion in their World Cup squad for Qatar.
