Football fans have called for the return of ‘the greatest football show of all time’ after ITV announced they will broadcast the remainder of the Serie A season.

The broadcaster announced that a series of matches in Italy’s top flight will be shown free-to-air between now and the end of the season, prompting calls for a certain presenter to return to the screens.

James Richardson currently hosts the UEFA Goals Show on TNT and World’s Strongest Man on Channel 5, and previously rose to fame with Football Italia in the 1990s.

The Channel 4 show aired for a decade after first hitting screens in 1992, with Richardson hosting Saturday morning football overview show Gazzetta Football Italia.

ITV announced plans to host eight matches during the end-of-season run-in as Inter close in on the Scudetto for the 20th time, with the first match shown on Saturday evening.
