Fans flooded social media with praise after Shaboozey took the stage for a memorable performance during the break during the Thanksgiving Day game between the Detroit Lions and the Chicago Bears.
The Grammy-nominated singer, 29, who sparked rumors of a romance with Emily Ratajkowski earlier this year, treated the crowd to a mix of his hit songs including Tipsy (A Bar Song) and Last of My Kind.
The six-minute set received critical acclaim online, with many on X (formerly Twitter) applauding Shaboozey for delivering a family-friendly performance that stood out in stark contrast to the usual halftime fare.
“Good job, @ShaboozeysJeans. Good, clean, family friendly halftime performance,” one fan wrote.
Another excitedly chimed in, “AMERICA made the turn…NFL lets Shaboozey (country star) play at halftime! Finally something everyone can watch that isn’t as gross and disgusting as regular music for NFL games.”
Several others expressed their appreciation for the wholesome nature of the show. One fan stated, “No need for grinding, wardrobe malfunctions or satanic staging! Way to go, @DetroitLions. #nfl #detroitlions. He represented well.”

Another enthusiast added: “Bad ass! It’s a great time to be a #lions #detroitlions #detroit #nfl fan! It’s also nice not to have any annoying, slutty, satanic rappers at halftime!”
One fan, impressed by the performance even though he wasn’t a fan of country music, said, “Probably one of the best halftime shows I’ve seen in a long time.” Shaboozey brings it, and I’m not even a country fan.”
The halftime show comes after Shaboozey fans were outraged over the singer losing in the Single of the Year category at the 2024 CMA Awards.
The music artist competed against Cody Johnson, Post Malone, Lainey Wilson and Chris Stapleton, who won for his song White Horse.
It comes two days after the star’s song, A Bar Song (Tipsy), spent an 18th week at number one on the chart. Billboard Hot 100.
We’re just a week away from achieving the longest number one hit together with Lil Nas X’s Old Town Road (featuring Billy Ray Cyrus).
Following his defeat for Single of the Year, a fan wrote on X: “They just turned down Shaboozey #CMAs.”
Another person added in all caps: “Shaboozey got robbed at the first prize!!! F**k the CMAs!!!’
