Footage resurfaces of NYC Mayor Eric Adams handing Diddy key to the city months before disgraced mogul was asked to return it over Cassie Ventura assault – as both men face legal woes

Disturbing footage has emerged showing New York Mayor Eric Adams handing the key to the city to Sean Diddy Combs as both men face charges.

In a clip from last September, when Mayor Diddy handed the key to the city during a ceremony in Times Square, the Big Apple’s Democratic leader said, “The bad guy in entertainment gets the key to the city from the bad guy in politics.”

It comes as Diddy, 54, awaits trial in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center in New York City after being charged with sex trafficking and racketeering. Meanwhile, Adams, 64, became the city’s first mayor to face criminal charges while still in office, following a series of federal corruption investigations into campaign finance and alleged kickback schemes among top officials.

Two months after Diddy got the keys, his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura filed a lawsuit against the rapper, claiming he raped and abused her for 10 years.

More serious allegations against the rapper continued to surface, but Diddy wasnā€™t required to return his ceremonial key to the city until June of this year. The mayor sent the embattled rapper a letter asking him to have his honor restored, following widespread criticism over footage that surfaced of the disgraced rapper assaulting his then-partner.

Adams wrote in June that he stands with survivors of domestic violence, but also noted that the key was awarded to model citizens where Diddy no longer met the criteria.

The shocking footage of Diddy attacking Ventura, obtained by CNN, shows the rapper in 2016, shirtless and with a towel around his waist, as he chases her through the hallway of the InterContinental Hotel in Century City.

When Ventura wanted to get into the elevator, he grabbed her by the back of the head and threw her to the floor.

He kicked her as she lay motionless on the floor. Diddy then stood over her, kicked her again and dragged her back to their room.

Last week, Homeland Security agents raided Diddy’s Manhattan hotel room and arrested him after mounting allegations of sexual and other abuse against the music mogul.

Adams, who was arraigned yesterday, said in a two-minute clip filmed from the Gracie Mansion on Wednesday that he “always knew” he would be targeted because of his views. He also refused to resign from his post.

He reminded onlookers that he asked President Joe Biden for federal help and claimed the ā€œinvestigationā€ into him was launched as a result.

The indictment remained secret Wednesday night and its contents remain unknown.
