Footage of Patrick Mahomes, 14, playing in Junior League Baseball World Series re-emerges online as his MLB dreams with the Kansas City Royals await

It was already known that Patrick Mahomes had the choice of going pro in football or baseball, but his efforts in the 2010 Junior League Baseball World Series have resurfaced online.

At age 14, Mahomes played shortstop for the team from Tyler, Texas, that faced Taipei in the finals. He is listed at 6-foot-1 and 165 pounds, with his favorite movie being “Remember the Titans.”

In his third at-bat of the night, Mahomes took the third pitch of the at-bat, a curveball that hung in the air too long, and hit it through the middle of the infield for a single.

It was the first point of the match for the US champions, but it did not spark a rally as it was the only point scored by Texas in the match, which eventually lost 9–1 to Taipei.

It was a blast from the past, as Mamhomes’ flirtation with the Kansas City Royals has been ongoing since being called up by the neighboring Chiefs in 2017.

Mahomes is an accomplished baseball player in addition to his skills as a quarterback

Mahomes previously threw out the first pitch at Royals games and is a beloved figure in Kansas City.

Even if Mahomes tried his best for the Royals and failed, nothing could stop his popularity after bringing three Super Bowls to town in the last five years.

Mahomes played two years of college baseball at Texas Tech and was selected in the 37th round by the Detroit Tigers in the 2014 MLB Draft, but did not sign a contract with the team.

The 28-year-old Mahomes’ godfather is one of his father’s old teammates, LaTroy Hawkins.

Mahomes is well on his way to becoming one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time and it’s unlikely he’ll pull a Deion Sanders or Bo Jackson and play in both the MLB and NFL.

His love for baseball is evident to this day, from a young age.
