Footage emerges of eight-year-old girl’s daring joyride to Target after she stole her parents SUV

Nail-biting footage captures the moment an eight-year-old girl makes the 25-minute drive to her destination in a swerving SUV.

The girl picked up her family’s white 2020 Nissan Rogue from their Bedford, Ohio, home on Sunday morning.

In addition to the car, the child also took $400 to spend at the store.

Her family reported her missing to Bedford police around 7 a.m. To their surprise, a neighbor’s Ring camera revealed the little girl climbing into the driver’s seat and driving away in the SUV.

The girl was found safe when she arrived at the popular store in Bainbridge.

Another driver saw the family car on the road that morning as the girl changed lanes. The other driver quickly called 911 to report the reckless young driver.

The clip showed the young girl driving in the car as the sun rose on Rockside Road.

The other driver saw the vehicle drive through his windshield as the child swerved into his own lane when the light turned green.

In the background, the male driver could be heard telling police that he was an “erratic driver” as he drove behind her.

At the end of the video, the girl could be seen steering the car to the left, into the other lane.

While her parents worried about her whereabouts, police received a call from the concerned driver behind her.

In their rush to find the eight-year-old, they scored a small victory when a license plate reader spotted the SUV on Pettibone Road, WKYC reported.

Ultimately, Bainbridge police located the vehicle in the Target parking lot and found the girl inside the store.

Shockingly, no one was injured despite the eight-year-old girl confessing to police that she had vandalized a mailbox in her driveway.

It takes 25 minutes to drive the 10-mile route from her house to the store.

During her shopping trip, the girl used the $400 to look around and then paid for it, employees said. WEWS-TV.

Bedford police declined to tell DailyMail.com whether charges have been filed against the eight-year-old, saying it is an ongoing investigation. It is also unclear what the girl went to buy at the store.

TikTok users were shocked by the discount compared to the much higher prices they saw in Florida, Virginia and Illinois

But in a humorous post on their Facebook page, the department wrote: “Yes, it is true that an eight-year-old took mom’s car and drove to Target in Bainbridge this morning to shop.

“I’m not sure what she bought or if she was even able to use the Target app to save 5%. We did let her finish her Frappuccino. We’re not mean.”

The incident came just two months after police released bodycam footage showing a young boy sitting unharmed in his mother’s stolen SUV.

The tragic incident occurred shortly after 29-year-old Ohio mother and speech therapist Alexa Stakely jumped onto the hood of a car as a carjacker sped away. She fell off and suffered fatal head injuries.

She died that day trying to save the life of her six-year-old son after the suspect tried to steal the car the six-year-old was sleeping in.
