An unassuming cafe in an inner-city suburb of Sydney is catching the attention of avid foodies for its ‘out of this world’ sandwiches.

Salumeria Norcino has racked up dozens of five-star reviews since opening in May last year, with one visitor saying they could ‘rant all day’ about their experience.

Between two slices of crispy-on-the-outside and soft-on-the-inside flatbread, the filling consists of Waygu beef, ‘tonnato’ sauce and arugula, mortadella and stracciatella, and house-made eggplant parmigiana and cotto ham.
There are also burgers on the menu, with one person saying the Blackmore Waygu beef burger with fresh tomato and truffle mayonnaise was ‘possibly the best they’ve ever eaten’.
For those with a sweet tooth, there is a range of decadent bakery treats, including the Italian bombe donut, the Italian cornetta croissant and Maritozzo’s Roman brioche, filled with whipped cream, chocolate or custard.

One reviewer gave the eatery five stars, saying: ‘The food here was absolutely delicious. Everything from starter to dessert amazed me!’
Another said Salumeria Norcino serves the “best Italian food in town,” and a third said it was the “definition of a hidden gem.”
“An unpretentious, unassuming and delicious Italian restaurant (that is still relatively undiscovered and has not yet made the rounds on social media),” they wrote.
‘I’ve been here three times and haven’t been disappointed at all. All the cured meats and cheeses we tried were delicious, as were the dry-aged steak and pastas.”
