Donald Trump is known for his notoriously unhealthy diet, but it turns out Joe Biden’s isn’t much better.
That’s according to a social media personality who spent a whole day eating like the elderly politicians. TikToker Bennett Rea, 35, concluded at the end of the experiment that none of them have a diet that even comes close to that of “normal people.”
Trump’s daily consumption of up to 12 Diet Cokes and a McDonald’s left Rea feeling “hungover” and as if he were taking part in a “Supersize Me” experiment.
But Biden’s peanut butter and jelly sandwiches sounded almost “childish” and took him back to his high school days, when he would eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, he said.
Bennett Rea, 35, revealed the presidential diets at his TikTok cookinincongress. He’s pictured above trying the Trump diet (left) and the Biden diet (right)
“Biden’s diet was actually very simple and took away the decision fatigue,” he told DailyMail.com. “There was something very childlike about it.”
“After that I felt like this diet wasn’t for me. I was bored, it was bland. There wasn’t enough protein, so I was a little hungry and full of sugar from all that Gatorade.”
The writer runs the cookingwithcongress TikTok account that reveals the diets of famous politicians and former presidents — and already has 20,000 followers.
Rea researched the diets of both presidents through news articles and books.
He drew from works such as Alex Prud’homme’s ‘Dinner with the President’, which covers both Biden’s and Trump’s diets, and Corey Lewandowski’s ‘Let Trump be Trump’, which also details the former president’s dietary preferences.
Biden usually starts his day with a bowl of Special K and an Orange Gatorade.
For lunch he eats a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, an apple, and more Gatorade, and for dinner he has Angel Hair pasta with red sauce.
Snacks include high-protein Fig Newtons, and Haagen-Dazs vanilla chocolate chip ice cream.

Trump, on the other hand, usually skips breakfast. Lunch is often a steak cooked so well that the corners curl up, which he eats with ketchup and sometimes a salad of Roquefort dressing.
A typical dinner consists of two Big Macs, two Filet-o-Fish, a small chocolate milk and, again, a Diet Coke.
Snacks are Doritos or Lays and more Diet Coke. Trump has been known to drink 12 a day.
Rea told this website: ‘If you look at Trump’s diet, I don’t understand how someone who is 60, 70 or 80 can eat all day like Donald Trump.
“It seemed too much like a ‘Supersize Me’ experiment and I felt like I couldn’t do this for more than a day because I have health issues.
‘The next day I felt hungover, like I had just drunk a carafe of red wine. I couldn’t concentrate.
‘I took half a day off work, walked around the city and felt sick, it was tough, but the next day I started to feel better.’

Rea said he was “bored as hell” following Biden’s diet and felt like he was “eating edible food for someone who’s a little older.”
Trump’s diet left him with the same suffocated feeling as someone sitting after Thanksgiving dinner, and in that “weird aggressive posture” — where he wasn’t sure whether he wanted to fight or lie down.
He also said he had eaten twice the recommended amount of salt per day, and was proud of himself for eating so much fast food.
He described how this affected his stress levels, adding: ‘At one point during the Trump diet I said to my wife, ‘I can’t really talk to you right now, I just need to be alone with all this food in my stomach.’
Both presidents have been alcohol-free. Trump claimed to be a teetotaler his entire life, which he attributed to watching his brother Fred struggle with alcoholism and die from it. Biden has also stopped drinking after seeing the effects of alcohol consumption on his family.
Rea said he missed having a glass of wine or beer in the evening during the presidential diet.
Biden’s diet was also low in caffeine, as the president doesn’t drink coffee much these days. This is thought to be a matter of personal preference.
Mr Rea said this made him feel ‘bored’, as he likes to start his day with a cup and a half of coffee.
The two videos have been viewed more than a million times. Biden’s clip has been viewed 1.7 million times at the time of publication, while Trump’s has been viewed 1.3 million times.
In Biden’s video, a viewer said, “So Joe Biden is my 17-year-old. He’s been eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches almost every day since he was 18 months old. I remember him asking for them back then.”
A second said: ‘I’m honestly surprised it’s not worse… my grandma will have a bowl of cottage cheese and then tuna salad or barley soup in the evening.’
In Trump’s video, one person said, “My blood pressure ain’t like that McDonald’s,” while a second said, “My body hurts just watching this,” and a third said, “Silly me, I was worried about his protein intake for a moment.”
Rea said his family loved the experiment and found it “funny” that he tried to eat like a president.
Some friends also said they hadn’t seen him eat like that since he was 14 or 15 years old, when he would often eat a bag of Doritos.
Rea said he announced at age 5 that he wanted to be president and also a professional chef, and his channel was a continuation of that childhood dream.

He enjoys cooking at home and often prepares spicy or Moroccan dishes, but he says he has no professional experience in an industrial kitchen.
He also worked for a distillery for over six years, where he helped mix cocktails and even created a number of new cocktails for the menu.
He is currently working on videos exposing the diets of other former presidents, including Barack Obama and Theodore Roosevelt, which will be released in the coming weeks.
