‘Folding chair man’ seen swinging furniture during viral brawl along Alabama river turns himself in to police a week after major scuffle with white boaters who was furious after being asked to leave reserved dock
A man who became known as the “folding chair man” after a viral brawl at an Alabama harbor has turned himself into a cop.
Reggie Ray, 42, was charged with disorderly conduct as a result of the fight, with four other members of the fight also arrested and charged in the past three weeks.
In shocking footage viewed by millions online, Ray appeared to wildly wave a folding chair at a group of white boaters after they launched into a furious frenzy.
The brawl is believed to have started when a group of white boaters became enraged when they were asked to move their boat to make way for a riverboat.
Ray’s surrender comes days after Alabama authorities announced charges against three white men, Richard Roberts, 48, Alan Todd, 23, and Zachary Shipman, 25. Another woman, Mary Todd, 21, has also been arrested and police have ordered Ray to turn himself in. for questioning as they announced the arrests.
