Flume reveals why the pandemic was good for him

Flume has opened up about how his break from touring during the Covid pandemic has allowed him to enjoy a well-deserved rest.

The Sydney-born hitmaker, 31, said prior to Covid that he was feeling burned out from his years on the road and wanted some time off to catch up with friends and family.

‘The best thing for me was that that express train stopped and lived like a normal person for two years. I was so happy to do that,” he said The Daily Telegraph.

He added that the two years he lived a quiet life during the lockdown helped him develop strategies to reconcile his work and private life.

“It was a shock to go on tour again from a simple life to a chaotic lifestyle. But I am now armed with the knowledge of how to balance my work and private life.’

Flume then made the breathtaking confession that he deliberately contracted Covid while in lockdown so he wouldn’t have to worry about catching it on tour.

“All my friends had it. I was the only one who didn’t, so I kissed my friend who tested positive,” he said.

Earlier this year, Flume made a series of startling confessions in an interview with The age — including claiming he never felt like an artist.

“I’m afraid to speak in public, so I never know what to say to an audience,” he said.

To cope, he drank “three or four glasses of champagne” before taking the stage, followed by a few more while he was performing.

After a show, he would open a bottle to celebrate, and this process continued for months at a whopping six shows a week.

And before I knew it, I realized ‘Oh f**k, I’m an alcoholic,’ he told the paper.
