Floyd Mayweather’s longtime assistant Marikit Laurico has passed away at the age of 47.

She had worked with the five-division world champion for much of his 25-year boxing career.

reports in Sun suggest that Laurico had felt “unwell” during a recent trip to Dubai before his passing.

They also say the cause of death may have been a heart attack, although this is currently unconfirmed.

Mayweather’s daughter paid tribute to her father’s assistant on social media with a message that read: “This doesn’t feel real…my heart is so heavy.” You were more than my dad’s assistant, you were family.

You were the definition of someone with a good heart, always cheering people up and making them feel good about themselves.

‘There is no one like you will truly be missed, I will love you forever.’

Another tweet from a friend read: ‘RIP Marikit Laurico. She was the real deal.

‘Loyalty? Trust? I respect? Diligence? Modesty? That’s kitchie. With all due respect, Hall of Famer. Thanks for being the way you are.’

Mayweather has yet to comment on Laurico’s passing.
