California florist’s life is ‘turned upside down’ after cops reveal her boyfriend of 15 years who was living in her $4.3 million mansion is the convicted fugitive known as the ‘Bad Breath Rapist’

An innocent San Francisco florist has had her life turned upside down after police uncovered the secret criminal past of her longtime boyfriend, whom she knew as “Randy.”

Officials told DailyMail.com that the unidentified woman was “shocked” by the revelation that her boyfriend, who had lived in her $4.3 million Californian mansion for the past 15 years, was actually a runaway rapist from Massachusetts.

Former restaurant manager Tuen Kit Lee, 55, gained fame as the “evil breath rapist” after he was convicted in September 2007 of breaking into a colleague’s home and sexually assaulting her at knifepoint on February 2, 2005.

He was reportedly wearing a mask over his face during the attack, but the victim recognized the smell of his breath as he worked together at the Quincy, Massachusetts restaurant on the outskirts of Boston. DNA research later confirmed this.

Lee reportedly fled his trial before jurors overturned the conviction. Now the US Marshals Service has revealed to DailyMail.com that he is living a life of luxury in California with an unwitting girlfriend who knew him as ‘Randy’.

Senior Inspector Chris Tamayo said the couple lived in a $4.3 million mansion in the small town of Diablo, about 20 miles (32 kilometers) east of the Bay Area.

State police from Massachusetts and California tracked Lee to the house this year and waited outside for him to come out. They saw him leave with his girlfriend before getting into a car at 6.30am on Tuesday.

Police stopped the vehicle on Diablo Road before arresting Lee, who initially insisted his name was Randy. He later admitted who he was under pressure from officers, and fingerprints confirmed his real identity.

His girlfriend was stunned when officers told her the news about who “Randy” really was, Tamayo said.

“She had absolutely no idea,” he told DailyMail.com. ‘The woman he was with had absolutely no idea who he was.

‘Her life was completely turned upside down. I certainly feel sorry for her situation. She couldn’t believe it.’

Tamayo said the woman owns a flower shop in San Francisco, about a 35-minute drive from their lavish estate, and that Lee had worked with her at the shop.

He said Lee had “given up everything from his previous life” to go on the run and “created a new identity” to hide his horrific criminal history.

Tamayo added that his victim, who has been waiting for closure in the case for nearly two decades, felt “a sense of relief” when police told her he had finally been arrested.

Photos posted on social media show Lee being handcuffed next to a police van while surrounded by several officers.

Lee had been on the run for so long that the case went nowhere, but Tamayo said he was finally tracked down after a “great” Massachusetts State Police officer relaunched the investigation about two years ago.

“He found one photo on social media that connected him (Lee) to California, which allowed us to start running and finally identify him,” Tamayo said.

Lee was transported to the Danville Police Department for booking on Tuesday, where he will be held pending extradition to Massachusetts.

“There are violent offenders who believe they can commit crimes and not be held accountable for their actions,” Superintendent Sean LoPiccolo, acting commander of the Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force, said in a statement.

“Tuen Lee was on the run for over 16 years and the continued dedication of police to locate and arrest him will hopefully bring peace of mind to the victim and her family.”
