A notorious Florida retirement town has returned to the limelight after a TikTok video claiming to show a color-coded loofah system used by older swingers to indicate their sexual preferences went viral.
The video, which was posted by drag queen tora himan and has been viewed more than three million times, scrolls through a series of photos of cars in a parking lot that have different colored loofahs hanging from them.
The TikTok creator tagged the location The Villages of Florida, the world’s largest retirement community that exceeds the size of Manhattan and spans five ZIP codes, with more than 130,000 residents.
Previously, DailyMail.com reported that it had a thriving swingers scene and a black market for Viagra.
Tora’s video also goes on to show a box that apparently reveals the meanings behind the colors of the loofah and previously shared on reddit three years ago.

According to the chart, white means the owner is a novice and beginner, purple says you’re a voyeur, pink indicates ‘gentle sharing’ or ‘people who like to do it with others in the room’ and blue is for the ‘lowest level of total exchange’ and ‘those who can play well with others’.
The other three colors are yellow, black, and teal, corresponding to a mid-level trade “for those who want to have fun but are still nervous”, a full trade for “those who say what the hell to let it all sink in.” “. and bisexual for ‘those who want to increase their dating chances’ respectively.
As expected, there was a huge response to Tora’s TikTok video.
“I work in the villages, we have a paper on our desk to see what happens when we see them go by or customers get out of the cars,” said one person.
‘Yeah. My parents used to have a house there and I would visit them often and see them everywhere. I told them to do the same. They said they are not swingers,” added another.
‘OMG this is so true, I worked in the villages and loved it! these people live there the best #goals of life minus STDs (sic)’ another person wrote.
“The loofah thing in The Villages has been going on for a long, long time. At least 20+ years,’ one comment read.
But not everyone was convinced that the loofahs were there for nefarious purposes.

In the Reddit post, a person who claimed to have worked at The Villages “for over three years” also called the loofah system a “myth.”
‘The reason for the sponges is simple, it’s so they can find THEIR car. All the retirees drive similar cars and grandma can’t drive all over the parking lot looking for her car,” the redditor said.
“So the loofah is an easy way to spot it from a distance. Trust me, everyone I’ve met is definitely not a swinger, as most can barely stand on their own.
But others were skeptical, with one person quipping: “Just because they can’t walk doesn’t mean they can’t ‘swing’.
“It’s so cute that you think so,” added another.
‘As someone who owns 2 houses there I can tell you that is absolutely true. city fire [bar] on the weekends, or almost any night, it’s a sure way to get something,’ said a third person.

Spanning 32 square miles, The Villages is a veritable boom town for 55+ baby boomers who flock to geriatric paradise for its endless margarita shakes (happy hour starts at 11 a.m.), golf courses, unlimited golf and known for its laissez-fair attitude towards sex, thriving swinger scene and controversial politics.
Unsurprisingly, there was a huge response to Tora’s TikTok video, with some people who claimed to have worked at The Village confirming the claims.
A bartender at a restaurant in The Villages told DailyMail.com in 2014: ‘I was paid $100 for three hours of work at a swingers party in a private house.
‘Two of the men approached me and asked if I would be interested in bartending. They told me things would happen that I might not want to see.
‘Trust me, having worked the party before things got too hot and heavy, there are things I’m already trying to forget.
“There were 10 people, all in their late 50s to mid 60s, and by the time I left they didn’t need to drink anymore. A full-blown orgy was going on.
I’m open minded but I made it clear that it wasn’t on the menu, I didn’t want anyone to touch me. Working at Villages is a true revelation. As a bartender, old ladies come up to me all the time. Some of them don’t know shame.

“With 10 women for every man, you can’t afford to lose your guard.”
Inevitably for a retirement complex, there are numerous medical facilities, including an infectious disease center where the elderly can go for STD treatment.
