Florida priest stabbed multiple times while having coffee in horrifying broad daylight attack

A 22-year-old woman has been arrested in Florida after allegedly stabbing a pastor in the chest while he drank coffee at a cafe.

St. Augustine Police Department officers took Arieana Gibbs into custody after she allegedly assaulted Father Matt Marino, lead pastor of Trinity Parish, around 8 a.m. on Oct. 23.

Gibbs reportedly stopped her bicycle and approached Marino and his friend who were sitting at a table talking outside at Juniper Market.

She went up to one of them, said “excuse me” and then stabbed him under the collarbone. Law and crime.

Marino and his friend tried to fend off the attacker before she managed to get back on her bike and ride away.

The two men kicked the bicycle in an attempt to stop her from leaving, but were unsuccessful.

As a result, the pastor suffered a collapsed lung with internal bleeding and was treated at a hospital in Jacksonville.

Within an hour, officials posted photos of the scene and an old mugshot of Gibbs looking for her – identifying her as a “light-skinned black woman weighing approximately 5’3 100 pounds, last seen riding a black bicycle with wearing an orange long-sleeved shirt, tie-dye pants and a black backpack’ on Facebook.

She was soon arrested and charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and simple assault.

She is being held in the St. Johns County Jail without bond. A court date has not yet been set for her

Theo Glory, the owner of a café across the street, told: ‘He lay flat on the ground as if stone cold. The Good Samaritans around him put a coat on him and waited for the emergency vehicles.

“Within minutes we had six, seven police cars and fire trucks. And they did their job.”

The pastor is currently in stable condition.

She was standing at the soft drink machines of one of the fast food chains when she was approached by an employee.

Gibbs then turned to the victim and said ‘can you help me with something’, grabbed the victim’s left arm with her right hand and pulled a knife with her left hand.

The victim pulled her arm back and was able to get away before anything happened.

She is being held in the St. Johns County Jail without bond. A court date has not yet been set for her.
