A Florida police dog has gone on a violent rampage, biting three people – with one of the victims climbing out of a window – during a bloody attack that ended with one of the victims stabbing K9 in the neck.
The incident happened March 4 in the Windy Hills neighborhood of Duval County, when the unruly police dog broke out of his kennel and began wandering Forest Boulevard.
When some neighbors saw the pup, they initially thought it was friendly and tried to put a leash around its neck as they intended to locate its owner. But when one of the victims tried to bring the animal to safety at his home, the dog suddenly attacked.
Two other residents who came to the aid of the victim were also bitten during the harrowing ordeal. The bloody scene ended when one of the victims used a knife to stab the rabid dog in the neck in a desperate attempt to subdue the animal.
When officers arrived, they were unaware that the K-9 belonged to a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Department officer and believed it to be a hobo, according to bodycam footage released by the department, according to Action News Jax. It is unclear where the officer, who owns the dog, was at the time of the incident’s dog.

The three unidentified victims who were bitten were treated for injuries sustained in the unprovoked attack.
Officials said they were fine, although the extent of their injuries is unclear. Meanwhile, the animal that suffered stab wounds to its neck had undergone surgery and was recovering, a JSO police spokesman told Action News Jax.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the incident is under review.
Lawyer Lawrence Najem, who represents all three victims, said his clients are “under the care and treatment of physicians, including a plastic surgeon.”
Although they are not litigate the case, he said they are in talks with the city about settling their medical bills and the income they are missing out on because of missing work.
“There are also some mental anxieties, this was a very traumatic event,” Najem said.
“Because they couldn’t stop this animal from attacking them and it took a long time.”

A police dog, also referred to as a K-9, is a dog that undergoes vigorous training to assist police and other law enforcement officers, as well as search and rescue teams and the military, on various missions.
But Ulysee Admuff, a service dog trainer and consultant for several police departments, told the news outlet that these police dogs are “not pets.”
And in a situation like this, he said it’s best not to approach the animal.
“These dogs are molded exactly for what they will be used for here in the real world and you don’t know what picture has been painted in his head,” he said.
