A Florida woman has been arrested for child neglect for keeping her 11-year-old son with her in a $300-a-night hotel room while she had sex with two men — one of whom died in bed while the child was nearby.
Amy Kemper, 32, and her son checked into the Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa in Palm Coast, Florida, on Saturday evening.
Police say she went there to do drugs and have sex with two older men.
On Sunday morning, she frantically called 911 to report that one of the men was not breathing. He was later pronounced dead.
The man’s cause of death has not been released, but details of the night were released by Sheriff Rick Staly, who said Kemper and her son “went to the resort in the middle of the night so she could engage in narcotics and sexual activity.” ‘
Amy Kemper was arrested and charged with child neglect without great bodily harm and taken to the Sheriff Perry Hall inmate jail. She is being held on a $15,000 bond
In 2015, Kemper was charged with a misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession and was released the same day. In 2019, she was charged with another crime, this time for domestic battery, and was released the next day
Kemper booked a $300-a-night room at the Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa for her, her 11-year-old son and two unidentified men
The sheriff’s office confirmed Kemper’s son was in the room the entire time.
According to a Flagler County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, Kemper said she thought the dead man was sleeping and reportedly heard him “snoring unusually.”

According to her Facebook profile, Kemper lived in Illinois before moving to Florida.
The Daytona Beach News-Journal reported on her father in 2019, saying, “Kemper, his wife Cathy, and their three children, Jack Jr., Katy and Amy, married in 1987 and moved to Palm Coast in 2007 to escape the harsh Midwestern winters . when his lungs started to fail and in 2009 Kemper needed a double lung transplant.”
