A Florida car thief was chased by police on a wild ride through suburban homes, back gardens and woods in the city of Ocala, in the central portion of the state.
Dale Shrewsbury, 35, is the alleged driver behind the wheel of the manic pursuit that led to several patrol cars attempting to tackle him.
Once the vehicle had been shoved off the road, Shrewsbury could be seen making a run for it but he was unable to outpace the force’s K-9 Officer, named Jet, which clamped down on his butt and dragged him to the ground.
As officers finally caught up, Shrewsbury could be heard screaming and squealing for the dog to be taken off his behind, but officers refused until their suspect was firmly in handcuffs.
The car chase began at around 9:20am on August 11th in Ocala City, central Florida

The car was stolen at around 8:30am on August 11th after the owner left the keys inside the vehicle.
Seizing an opportunity, Shrewsbury is alleged to have jumped into the driver’s seat and sped off.
Less that one hour later the car was spotted by police who attempted to conduct a traffic stop and for Shrewsbury to pull over.
The suspect driver ignored such requests and the chase began in earnest across many roadways throughout the city of Ocala and Marion County.
Shrewsbury drove recklessly throughout in order to escape capture and ran several cars off the road including a patrol vehicle.
At one point the vehicle smashed through a garden fence and careered into a backyard
The suspect attempted to evade capture by driving the car down narrow country lanes
He could then be seen smashing through wooden garden fences and metal driveway gates before speeding across fields and backyards.
Miraculously, nobody was out and about in their gardens or children playing outside at the time of the chase.
A tire stinger was deployed but Shrewsbury managed to avoid that also by heading down a dirt road into a wooded area.
The officers from the Ocala Police Department were unable to continue the pursuit through the woods with the paths being far too narrow for patrol vehicles to travel down.

After coming out of the woods, Shrewsbury continued to flee from law enforcement driving through residential backyards striking several wooden and metal fences.
The pursuit ended after 21 minutes when police performed the PIT maneuver (pursuit intervention technique) that forces the car to turn 90 degrees and end up off the road.
After clambering out of the car, Shrewsbury made a run for it but was quickly caught by keen K-9 Jet.
Video then seen the police dog chomping down on Shrewsbury’s behind as the alleged car thief let out a yelp.
Shrewsbury was arrested for auto theft, aggravated fleeing and eluding, five counts of leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage, and driving with a suspended license.
