However, seconds before the blows were thrown, the fan appeared to offer no resistance while locked in a partial headlock.

‘No. That’s a split second screenshot of the encounter,” another user responded. ‘He didn’t go for anything. His hands were near the belt because he was being abused by someone much younger and stronger than him, and it looked like he was just trying to grab something to steady himself.”

“LOL what are you saying, you’re totally making that up,” a third added. “He wasn’t trying to get a gun, Jesus Christ.”

“If this had been in Texas, some guys would have grabbed that guy’s arm and held him for the officer,” a fourth chimed in. “Why aren’t people coming to help?”

A statement from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said Saturday that they “are aware of the videos circulating of the Georgia-Florida football game.”

‘Administrative investigations into the incidents are being opened. Therefore, the agency will not respond until all facts are known and investigations have been completed.”

What led police to become involved in the situation, or what brought them to that area in the first place, remains unclear.

As for the match, the Bulldogs emerged victorious 34-20 and moved to a 7-1 record for the season in a match known as ‘The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party’.

The Georgia-Florida rivalry is one of the biggest in college football, with the game routinely played on the two schools’ campuses in Jacksonville, Florida, about 30 miles from the border between the two states.

The build-up lasts almost all week, with tailgates starting days before the game.

Earlier this week, it was announced that the 2026 and 2027 editions of the game would be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta and Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, respectively, while EverBank Field in Jacksonville is undergoing renovations.
