The wife of a Florida police officer spends time between two hospitals while her husband fights for his life after a second heart attack and her newborn daughter stays in the NICU.

Robert Wright, 36, is a detective with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department.

Wright suffered a heart attack on December 7 and again in early February, leaving him in a forced coma.

His wife Heather was admitted to another hospital at the same time as her condition needed to be monitored 28 weeks into what a friend called a “challenging” pregnancy.

Robert Wright emerged from the coma on February 13, but wife Heather had to have an emergency caesarean section the next day as their daughter Raelynn was born weighing just one pound.

His wife Heather was admitted to another hospital at the same time as her condition needed to be monitored 28 weeks into what a friend called a “challenging” pregnancy. Their daughter, RaeLynn, was born on February 14 and remains in the NICU

She will remain in the NICU for observation for the next ten weeks.

Heather Wright goes back and forth between hospitals to care for both, while Robert remains in the hospital.

He currently uses a heart pump to keep blood flow going and rest his heart WAFB.

Heather – who met Robert in high school – has a positive attitude, saying, “Cherish your family, love your family, you never know what can happen at any moment.”

Friends and family have launched one GoFundMein an effort to raise $50,000 to get the family back on their feet.

There, Heather gave an update on the health of her husband and daughter, with good news for both.

“Raelynn is doing great in the NICU, no oxygen is needed and feedings are going well,” she wrote.

‘Rob is no longer in intensive care and will hopefully be discharged this week. We still have a lot of recovery ahead of us, but we are grateful for both of them.”

Heather made it clear that Robert will receive workers’ compensation, but the family will need much more to recover.

The GoFundMe claims that Robert and Heather, a real estate agent, “have spent most of their adult lives protecting and caring for those around them, including family, friends and even complete strangers.”

Robert Wright remains at Tampa General Hospital and has yet to meet his newborn daughter.
