Florida basketball coach Todd Golden accused of sexually harassing, stalking students in bombshell complaint

Florida men’s basketball head coach Todd Golden is accused of sexually harassing students, according to University Title IX documents obtained by an independent website. Alligator.com.

According to the report, Golden allegedly stalked, sexually harassed and sexually exploited an unspecified number of women. Alligator.com spoke with two women who claimed they were harassed by Golden.

One of the women, who is studying in Florida, says he sent her unsolicited photos of his genitals and followed her at least “10 times” in his car and on foot.

The other women, a former U of F student, said Golden “had this manipulation tactic over everyone.” Golden allegedly ‘liked’ a number of their Instagram posts before going back and ‘disliking’ them in an apparent attempt to cover his tracks.

A formal Title IX complaint was filed on September 27, alleging he violated the school’s gender equity policy. The school is not authorized to comment or confirm the existence of Title IX investigations, a UF spokesperson told Alligator.com.

Florida is currently 2-0 under Golden, who left San Francisco for Gainesville to join the Gators in 2022.

Golden, an Israeli-American citizen born in Phoenix, is married to former Saint Mary’s volleyball player Megan York, according to the Florida athletics website.

The pair actually met at St. Mary’s, where Golden led the Gaels to two NCAA Tournament berths as a point guard.

After graduating, Golden moved through a number of coaching positions, including stints at Columbia and under Bruce Pearl at Auburn.

Golden signed a six-year, $18 million contract in Gainesville in 2022 and made $3 million in 2023-2024. In March, he agreed to a two-year contract extension that included a $1 million annual pay increase.
