Florence Pugh has revealed she had to film a ‘sweaty’ and ‘exhausting’ scene eight times with her co-star Andrew Garfield in We Live In Time.
The actress, 29, who plays Almut, stars in the romantic comedy with the actor, 41, who stars as Tobias.
Packed with steamy scenes, Florence admitted it was ‘exciting’ to portray a couple’s sex life – even if she had to repeat the birth scene several times.
According to The sunshe said, “I’ve always wanted to do a love story. You actually get to understand the relationship, and what point they are at in the relationship, by the style of sex they have.
She added: “It was crazy and it was amazing. The only problem was that no baby came out. So I was just so exhausted and sweaty and tired and I had no endorphins or anything. We worked together with a midwife.
‘Exhausting, amazing, exhausting, so beautiful to watch, because it’s just about life. And it was like Andrew and I were preparing for a baby, and it was really beautiful. It was so emotional, it was like having a child.”

Florence said she did the scene with “seven dolls” and “one real baby.”
The first trailer brings Almut and Tobias together in a surprising encounter that changes their lives forever.
Through snapshots of their lives together – including falling for each other, creating a home and building a family – a difficult truth is exposed that shakes the foundation of the relationship to its core.
As they embark on a ten-year romance challenged by time limits, they learn to cherish every moment of their unconventional love story.
Meanwhile, Florence recently revealed after wrapping up the film, she was forced to reevaluate her personal life and how many sacrifices she had made.
It comes after Florence said she believes it is “very difficult and ‘exhausting'” to be a young woman in Hollywood.
She made her acting debut in the 2014 drama film The Falling when she was 18 and has become an in-demand star in the years since.
Speaking about the Reign with Josh Smith podcast, Florence said that she entered the entertainment world around the time of the Me Too movement and therefore felt it was important to always stand up for herself.

She said: ‘It’s very difficult. It’s also tiring. It’s really tiring.
“Young women in this industry have so much to fight for, protect, defend and then shout about. It’s really very difficult.
‘It’s an experience and it makes you claim yourself. It makes you have to reinvent yourself…
‘Now I can only take care of myself, I take care of my heart and that is where I am now. I wouldn’t have changed anything. I’m really proud of the things I stood up for.
“The time I came into the industry was Times Up and Me Too and navigating, understanding and learning from women was also very important.
“We’re in a time that’s certainly getting better for women, but that doesn’t mean you can’t continue to fight for things you think are right…
‘I’ve always been proud of the way I defended myself, whether it was on Instagram or in interviews. I have always prided myself on not being afraid to stand up for myself.”
Florence added that she also had to take good care of her mental health, given the intense roles she has taken on.

The actress recalled the horror film Midsommar and admitted she felt like she had ‘abused’ herself due to the intense nature of the role.
She explained, “Protecting myself is something I’ve had to learn. There have been some roles that I’ve given too much to, and then I’ve been broken for a long time.
“Just like when I did Midsommar, I definitely felt like I was abusing myself in some way in the places I took myself. The nature of figuring these things out is that you have to say, “Okay, I can’t do that again because that was too much.”
“But then I look at that performance and I’m really proud of what I did and I’m proud of what came out of me. So I don’t regret it.’
Florence also discussed shaving her head for her role in We Live In Time, where she played a woman with ovarian cancer opposite Andrew.
She said: ‘If I couldn’t have shaved my head, I wouldn’t have accepted this film. I think it’s so important to do it.
“If you lend yourself to a story like this, if you lend yourself to a cancer story like this, I couldn’t have done it.
“The scene was always a very beautiful scene… This couple turned it into a beautiful act that their daughter could remember and it didn’t have to be sad. The sun would come out. They went outside and took a chair with them.

‘They went for a biscuit and tea and they all went to shave mum’s hair and they went to collect it. I added the gathering because I really wanted to keep my hair this time.”
Florence revealed that she still has a box of hair she cut for the film.
She said: ‘I’ve had my hair cut a few times and I always feel really sad if I don’t get it… The whole day was magical. I really wasn’t scared or intimidated by it.
‘Andrew was obviously a bit intimidated because he was afraid he was going to mess it up… I said to him, ‘we’re going to shave my head, that’s what it’s going to be and it’s going to be a nice moment.’
‘It was such a special day… I still have it [the box of hair].’
