Florence Pugh reveals why teachers told her she shouldn’t pursue a career in acting as she graces the cover of Vogue Australia
Florence Pugh has shared a surprising revelation about her Hollywood career and how she almost didn’t become an actress.
The 27-year-old British star, who was on the cover of November issue of Vogue Australiarevealed that when she was in high school, she was told not to pursue an acting career.
“I had two teachers who strongly suggested that I shouldn’t do that, ‘because I certainly wasn’t going to be an actor,'” she told the magazine.
The actress explained how at the time she was hoping to attend an open audition for the 2014 film The Falling.
Pugh ended up starring alongside Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams in the mystery drama film.

“And at that point, I had been in every play, every school competition, every talent show,” she added.
“The only thing I was good at at this school was what I just got this opportunity to do.”
Nearly two weeks ago, the Don’t Worry Darling star was spotted looking dejected as she stepped out into London alone.
This came shortly after her reported breakup with photographer Charlie Gooch.
The actress explained how at the time she was hoping to attend an open audition for the 2014 film The Falling.
The couple had been dating for about a year before speculation arose that they had broken up.
According to The sunThe pressure of Florence’s hectic Hollywood career led her to end the relationship.
‘Florence and Charlie had known each other for years and things became romantic at the end of last year. But it didn’t last long,” a source told the newspaper early this month.
The pair first made their romance public in February when they were spotted enjoying an outdoor lunch on Valentine’s Day.
The insider also revealed that “Florence’s schedule is so busy and there were other factors at play” before adding that “she finally ended it in the summer.”
However, the source insisted there are “no hard feelings” between the pair and said Pugh is “not wallowing and is doing just fine on his own.”
