Flipkart could set up thousands of dark stores in major cities in the country, while the Walmart-owned e-commerce company is gearing up to launch a quick commerce (q-commerce) service in the coming months, sources said.
A dark store is a physical warehouse dedicated to fast online order processing. Flipkart plans to partner with several entrepreneurs and kiranas to set up these dark stores and will not own any. This can also create a significant number of jobs.
