Flights may experience delays: Akasa’s travel advisory ahead of WC final

Ahead of the grand final between India and Australia in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Gujarat on Sunday, Akasa Air Airlines issued a travel advisory stating that due to the closure of airspace in Ahmedabad, flights arriving and if you are departing from the city there may be delays.

“Due to the closure of airspace in Ahmedabad on November 19, 2023, between 1:15 PM and 2:10 PM due to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final, flights arriving and departing from Ahmedabad may be delayed,” wrote the airline on X.

“Also, in anticipation of heavy road traffic due to fans traveling to the match venue, we recommend that you allow additional travel time and reach the airport at least 3 hours before the departure of your flight,” the statement said.

“In light of the above, if you choose not to travel due to the above, you may rebook on an alternative available Akasa flight for travel within the next 7 days at no additional cost by calling our Akasa Care Center on + 91 9606 112131,” it added.

India and Australia will clash in the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. India will be looking to lift the trophy for the third time, while the Aussies look to make it their sixth title win.
