Flight attendants reveal what you should NEVER do on a plane

A flight attendant revealed the nine things she would never do on a plane after five years of experience in the friendly skies.

a video originally posted on TikTok by Cher Dallas (@cherdallas) revealed three of the nine things she wouldn’t do as a flight attendant. The video recently reappeared online.

Dallas posted one second And third video and referred to her helpful tips in each clip as “three more things” she would never do as a flight attendant.

The TikToker originally posted the first video in January 2024 and her second in February 2024.

Dallas is one of many veteran flight attendants who have revealed what she or other travelers should never do during a flight.

Dallas did her makeup in a bathroom as she explained three things she would never do on a plane in her first video.

While applying makeup, she revealed that wearing shorts is something she wouldn’t do on a plane.

“There are so many reasons, but it’s going to be cold and you’re going to freeze to death,” Dallas said.

Another scenario she was the first to support was that if an evacuation were to occur, someone’s “butt would fizzle off” if they went down the slide in shorts.

Shorts are a big no for this flight attendant, as is booking a connection of less than three hours between flights.

‘Delays can happen for a million and one reasons. The chance that you will miss your connection is quite high if you book for less than three hours,” says Dallas.

When she is on the plane as a flight attendant or alone as a passenger, she never uses the toilet paper in the airplane bathroom.

“If you examine the toilet paper, I promise you will see water droplets on it, or what you think are water droplets… I tell all my ladies to use Kleenex instead,” Dallas said.

Dallas’ first video about what she doesn’t do on flights has almost 800,000 views, which could be one of the reasons why she posted more videos a month later.

Dallas hinted that some of her “never dos” on planes could also apply to travelers as she explained three more things she would never do.

“I would never ring the bell to report a flight attendant’s trash,” she said.

‘On average, flight attendants go down the aisle every ten minutes of the flight to collect your waste. I would never go forward and leave my trash on the galley counter.”

Dallas also revealed that she would never do anything that involves trash and when or not to take it on a flight.

“If flight attendants come by and serve food or drinks, I would never try to hand them my trash because it’s not sanitary,” Dallas said.

The veteran flight attendant added that anyone who wants to dispose of their waste beforehand can get out of their seat and dispose of it in the bathroom if it is not occupied.

Dallas started her third video by explaining why she wouldn’t use the bathroom while flight attendants are on duty.

According to the TikToker, she would never try to squeeze past a cart because “it could easily wedge you between the seat and that 200-pound cart.”

Dallas then revealed that she wouldn’t even ask a flight attendant to give her food or drinks when she gets on a plane.

“I don’t ask unless I have to take medication when I walk on the plane.” We have too many other things to do to serve everyone soft drinks and snacks during boarding,” Dallas said.

Once the flight lands at its potential final destination of Dallas, she would never get up when the plane lands because it is “not a safe time for anyone to get up.”

Also, she won’t get up once the pilot turns off the seat belt sign because this will “actually delay the deplaning process.”

In addition to Dallas, flight attendant Aislinn Swain revealed things she would never do on board a plane, including, like the TikToker with five years of experience, not taking in trash.

Swain advised travelers not to eat ice cream on a plane, due to the risk of dirt from the ground getting onto the cubes, or gloves that flight attendants are not allowed to change.

Swain also advises travelers to bring sunscreen and wear shoes on their feet for every trip.

“I recommend you keep your shoes on for the entire flight because I’m sure your feet stink and your neighbors, and the rest of the plane, don’t want to smell that,” Swain said.

‘Shoes should definitely be left on during take-off and landing.’
