Flexible working is now more important than holidays for new jobseekers

Workers are increasingly prioritizing workplace flexibility when it comes to job hunting, even over vacation pay, new research finds.
A report from SD Worx indicates that a growing number of companies are now scrutinizing workplace absenteeism and working hours to monitor efficiency and productivity.
The survey found that around a third of European countries use employee self-service tools that allow employees to log their own work data, giving them the ability to take charge of their working hours and how they spend their time. They are also a center for registering absence requests, filing expenses, and reviewing benefits.
Companies that offer flexible working
The survey of more than 4,000 UK and European companies found that 47% of employees rate working hours and flexible forms of working particularly highly in their search for a career change.
βAt a time when companies face a myriad of challenges β from winning the war on talent to tackling rising costs and ensuring smooth employee relationships in a hybrid world β workforce management tools provide essential solutions for often complex business challenges,β said UK Country Lead at SD Worx, Rachel Clough.
However, not all countries are created equal, and France is mentioned a number of times in the survey as a country that scores less favorably than other European countries, particularly in terms of the uptake of time management systems and other employee self-service tools.
If a career change is too tame and a change of country is more your style, the scores of the Nordic regions and Ireland are most desirable.
SD Worx believes that by providing the right tools, it can enable companies to offer a more flexible working environment, enabling them to retain existing employees and attract new talent.
