FLETCHER leaves Aussie fans heartbroken as US pop star is forced to postpone Down Under tour for the second time: ‘It breaks my heart’

Australian fans of FLETCHER are devastated after the American pop star was forced to cancel her upcoming tour Down Under at the last minute last weekend.

The 30-year-old Undrunk singer, whose real name is Cari Elise Fletcher, announced the news via Twitter on Sunday, on the eve of the tour’s first show in Perth.

“Hi fam. It breaks my heart to write this,” she began her heartfelt message.

‘I was supposed to be on a plane to Australia today but I can no longer do that as I am dealing with a private family matter that requires my attention.

“I am deeply saddened from the bottom of my heart and devastated that we had to make this decision.”

The message also assured fans that the cancelled shows would be rescheduled.

Fans quickly sent messages of support to Cari, with one writing, “Sending lots of love to you and your family.”

Another said: ‘I hope all is well and I am sending you all the best. I am so excited to see you in Melbourne next week but I just want you to stay safe and healthy.’

This is the second time the American X Factor contestant has had to cancel her tour in Australia.

The Girl of My Dreams singer also had to cancel her plans for a 2023 visit due to health concerns.

She announced on Twitter at the time that a recent diagnosis of Lyme disease was the reason for the postponement.

“Over the last few years I became increasingly ill and I kept going even though I knew there was something deeper going on,” she wrote at the time.

“Over the past few months, I have been undergoing treatments prescribed by my doctor and doing my best to learn more about this invisible disease. Lyme has affected me in many ways and while it has not only taken a huge toll on my physical body, it has also caused me to become concerned about my voice.”

The announcement of the second postponement was also met with disappointment by Australian fans.

‘Of course, the best for your personal situation…but Australia? Two cancellations? I might not be available next time so I might need a refund – sorry,’ said one disappointed fan.

Another responded with a similar, yet supportive answer.

“So sad that our show has to be postponed again, but family always comes first. Sending you lots of love and can’t wait to see you in New Zealand soon,” they wrote.

FLETCHER’s Australian tour in July, in support of her 2024 sophomore album In Search Of The Antidote, was due to kick off in Perth on Tuesday before heading to Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.
