Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham reveals scary police mistake after alleged stalker contacted 911
Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham is seeking a long-term restraining order against an alleged stalker.
InTouch reports that Buckingham is seeking long-term court-ordered protection against a woman named Michelle, 53, who he says has been stalking and harassing him and his family for three years. He has already obtained a temporary restraining order against her.
Buckingham claimed that police were sent to his home after they received a 911 call reporting that his son William was trying to harm himself. The caller also claimed he heard gunshots.
Police handcuffed Buckingham before discovering that the allegations made during the 911 call were “fictitious.” The musician says the number that contacted emergency services was traced to Michelle’s phone.
Describing the incident, which took place on November 3, Buckingham says he was sleeping in his home when “nearly a dozen police officers” woke him up.
‘When I opened the door, I was handcuffed and asked to leave my house. The reason given was that a 911 call was received stating that my son William was in my home and [wanting to harm himself] and that the caller had heard a gunshot,” he described.

“After about 20 minutes of the police searching my house and leaving me handcuffed outside in the cold, I was let back into my house in shock and fear,” he explained.
Police freed him from the handcuffs when they realized the claims in the 911 call were fake.
‘I now know that the call has been traced to 911 [Michelle’s] phone and was the latest in an ongoing pattern of intimidation and threatening acts against my family and me,” he continued.
The November 3 incident happened after police warned Michelle to stay away from Buckingham’s home after she showed up on September 19.
Michelle must now stay 100 yards away from Lindsey, his wife Kristen Messner and his son William Buckingham, according to the temporary restraining order.
The order will remain in effect until a hearing later this month. During the hearing, Buckingham will be able to argue for a permanent restraining order.
Lindsey claims the problems with Michelle started after she obtained his wife’s cell phone number and then called dozens of times a day.

Lindsey claims that Michelle would occasionally leave “long messages claiming she was my child and threatening to kill me and my family.”
Lindsey said Kristen also “blamed me for facial disfigurements she apparently suffered as a child and demanded money.”
‘Don’t know [Michelle] and I am not her father,” he stated.
