Fixer Upper: The Hotel trailer: Chip and Joanna Gaines give first look at new show

Joanna Gaines and husband Chip gave a first look at their upcoming new HBO Max show Fixer Upper: The Hotel, which will be released this fall.

The first trailer, which was released on Wednesday, began with the power couple standing next to each other in matching black t-shirts as they revealed they had some exciting news.

After urging her husband to share their announcement, the 44-year-old returned to the screen in a red porter’s uniform with gold buttons and exclaimed, “All of you, we’re getting a hotel in downtown Waco, Texas!”

As they explored the property, Chip said, “When you think of a 50,000-square-foot hotel renovation, this is the big leagues. This is what you dream of.”

He later admitted that he and Joanna were “out of their element” to some extent, but “could handle the challenge.”

In a statement obtained by Varietythe six-episode series will see the duo doing what they are “most passionate about: hospitality, restoration and home.”

‘We have always believed strongly in the value of home, as a place but also as a feeling. Our dream for this hotel is that it would serve as an extension of home for every guest who comes to stay,” said the couple, who share five children.

In November, Chip and Joanna told the outlet that “this has been the biggest project of” their lives.

The couple has plans to convert the property into “Hotel 1928, a boutique hotel located a few blocks from Magnolia Market on the Silos,” the publication said.

Their hotel in downtown Waco, Texas was formerly the Grand Karem Shrine building.

According to Architectural abstractmuch of the structure remains unchanged and still contains decorative symbols of Freemasons and Shriners.

“It will be a big project, but we can’t wait to restore it to its former glory. There are so many details about this building that are beautiful,” says Joanna.

There will also be a roof terrace, a restaurant on the ground floor and a café.

“If you’ve been following our work, you might notice a pattern: that Chip and I are drawn time and time again to projects that emphasize the value of home,” Joanna wrote on their blog in 2019.

“When a project comes along like the one we’re announcing today, and it bridges what we’re most passionate about – home, hospitality and restoration – we can’t help but go all in. ‘

“Home is a feeling, created by and for the people you love and share your life with; it’s a state of being known and loved just as you are,” the couple added in a joint statement.

“That’s our dream for this hotel – that it would serve as an extension of the way we feel about our own home and all that it represents to us, and that every guest who comes to stay would experience the same sense of belonging and community.” . ‘

While this is the first hotel for the Gainses, they already own several businesses, including the Magnolia House B&B in McGregor, Texas.

Chip and Joanna worked on the 2,868-square-foot farmhouse built in the 1880s during their show and opened it in 2016 — when it quickly booked up for its first six months.

Amenities include free WiFi, Keurig coffee machines, premium toiletries, bottled water, bathrobes, a washer and dryer, laundry detergent, a sewing kit, local guides, umbrellas, charging cables, board games, a Bluetooth speaker, a full kitchen, and more, according to Rural living.

No doubt the couple’s new hotel will be equally well-equipped – and likely to be fully booked as soon as reservations become available.
